The Rotary Torque System is an automated simultaneous bolt tightening system for a fast and efficient assembly of wind power plants. The bolting process requires highest quality and accuracy to make sure, all parameters are well covered. A multi-step bolting process and the variable force application range offer more flexibility for a variety of wind power structures and applications.
The sensor referenced system guarantees a precise and accurate process to ensure the safety and quality of the end product. With the simultaneous bolt tightening on two parallel positions of the circular module, we are able to complete the process two times faster than in a regular standard application.

Under the umbrella of the German Wind Industry and Hydrogen Association WAB e.V. Broetje-Automation showcased innovative solutions for the factory of future for wind turbine production.
Represented by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection in cooperation with the Trade Fair Committee of German Business the German Pavillon brought together a broad spectrum of competences from many companies along the entire wind energy value chain. “Stronger together” was the leading WAB motto and program for three days of networking!
It began as a promising vision in July 2021 and has now come to a successful conclusion: the research project “Vertically integrated, sustainable end-to-end factory (VE2E)” for the development of a digital Factory of the Future. At the beginning of March, the forward-looking results of the research project were presented to a wide audience at Premium AEROTEC’s Varel site.
A Highly Flexible Industrial Robot System Opens New Possibilities for the Assembly of the Future at the WZL of the RWTH Aachen. Broetje-Automation delivered the large mobile robot system now to the WZL facility in Aachen, Germany.
German technology companies are working together with Boeing under the leadership of Broetje-Automation on the automated assembly of future aircraft generations within the “SHILA” project. Dr. Anna Christmann, the German government’s aerospace coordinator, presented the funding notice for the project at the Boeing plant in Renton / Seattle. The project is being carried out under the aerospace research program of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Action (BMWK).
Broetje-Automation supports the energy transition with automated production technology for the offshore wind industry. Building on more than forty years of experience in the automation of assembly processes of very large components, the company based Rastede, Germany has achieved significant improvements in quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness with its automatic bolting system.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and Broetje-Automation have finalized one of the most advanced production lines in the aerospace industry. At the MHI Hiroshima factory the final fastening system of the new panel production line for the Boeing 777-X program was completed and handed over to the customer. The two production lines include nine major fastening systems and mark a big milestone towards the digitally integrated Factory of the Future.
